In the world of babies, it is inevitable that your baby gear will experience many accidental spills & spit ups. From a banana left in a forgotten pocket of your nappy bag to a disastrous brown-green explosion in a baby romper, we have heard it all!

Our nappy bags, pram accessories and bamboo clothing have been designed with this in mind. All Luxe Baby products have been designed with premium materials and are as easy to clean as possible.

We have put together a guide on caring for your baby gear so that they will last many years and can be sold or passed on to other parents.

 

EXTERIOR CLEANING TIPS - Nylon Backpack

Here are some tips for keeping this material always looking its best:

• Please do not machine wash or submerge your bag in water.

• Using a damp cloth, wipe or spot clean. Use a small amount of detergent diluted with warm water. For best results, spot clean as soon as the spill occurs.

• For more stubborn stains, a soft-bristle toothbrush can also help. Again, use gentle circular motions.

• Avoid exposure to excessive temperatures, sunlight and moisture.

• Please do not use baby wipes to clean your nappy bag - the fragrance on the wipes can cause the water-resistant finish to break down.

EXTERIOR CLEANING TIPS - Faux Leather ​

Our best-selling material for a reason, your new Faux Leather item is easy to clean and water-resistant. Here are some tips for keeping this material in tip-top shape:

• Please do not machine wash or submerge your bag in water.

• Avoid leaving your item in direct sunlight for long periods of time.

• Avoid fragrant or alcohol based sanitisers and perfumes as the ingredients can damage the Faux Leather finish.

• Please keep the item away from harsh surfaces, as this may scratch or damage the exterior.

• Please do not use leather protector or conditioner to clean the item.

• Clean the material with a soft and dry cloth immediately after any spills. 

• Stains can be cleaned with a lightly damp cloth and mild soap. Please wipe the stain in a soft, circular motion.

• For stubborn stains such as pen ink marks, use a very small amount of Eucalyptus oil on a clean cloth & rub very gently.

• Minor scuffs can be concealed with shoe polish. A good local shoe repairer may be able to assist with this.

• Faux leather may fade or discolour with prolonged exposure to sun. When your bag is not in use, we recommend stuffing it with paper to keep its shape, placing it in the Luxe Baby dust bag provided and storing it in a dry, moisture free space out of direct sunlight.

INTERIOR CLEANING TIPS

Bags with fixed lining:

• Empty the contents of the bag completely and use a vacuum to remove any debris.

• Use a soft cloth dipped in a mild soap and warm water mixture and wring the cloth out thoroughly, then carefully wipe the lining using a gentle sponging motion.

• Fold a towel and place snugly inside the bag for 30 minutes to absorb any excess moisture.

• Leave your Luxe Baby bag open and allow to dry completely before storing or using.

• To note: As our vegan leather bags are handcrafted, there may be minor inconsistencies and variations in size, colour, shape and design from that pictured. Please note that colour will also vary depending on your screen settings.

ZIPS & HARDWARE

• We recommend that you either hold or place your Luxe Baby bag onto a flat surface when zipping and unzipping your bag.

• Do not grasp your bag by the zips alone to open and close it as this could cause the zip to misalign and/or jam and could cause the zip slider to separate, resulting in not being able to close the zipper teeth properly. It is also important to take care when packing your bag and not overload it for these reasons.

Please be aware that over time hardware may wear or fade due to environmental factors, especially in areas of high use.

​USING YOUR BAG

• Our bags are designed to carry everything you need for an everyday outing, but please note that overloading your bag and/or forcing the zip may result in unnecessary stress and damage which would constitute misuse. Please refer to the care instructions provided and listed above and pack your bag carefully to avoid this.

• Shoulder straps should be attached to the appropriate location on the bag. Please do not attach shoulder straps to the zip pullers on any bag. This again could cause unnecessary stress and damage, which would constitute misuse.

• Please be aware that areas of high use may start to show signs of wear and tear, e.g. handles.

• It is important to note that though our bags are designed to accommodate items for baby/toddler, as with any handbag, it still needs to be taken care of in order for it to function properly.
